Water System Information – Annual Consumer Confidence Reports

The Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) Rule requires each Public Water System (PWS) to provide an annual report on the quality of their water. The CCR includes a variety of important information about a PWS, including the drinking water source, monitored contaminants found in drinking water, and whether a PWS meets state and federal drinking water standards. The CCR Rule requires each PWS to mail or otherwise directly deliver one copy of its CCR to each customer by July 1st of each year.

Our drinking water continues to meet all compliance measures.

Water System Information – Lead and Copper Consumer Notices

TCEQ requires that we do many tests on our drinking water, one of which is testing for lead and copper, and TCEQ dictates when these tests must be performed, based on conditions and prior test results.

Boil Water Notice Rescinded

19-Jan-2024

On 18 January 2024, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the New Danville Community public water system, TX1700803, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of 19-January-2024.

If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact Randy Smyth at randy.smyth@newdanville.org (936) 236-6828.

Water samples taken after the water system came back online have been tested and no issues were found.

Boil Water Notice for Community Public Water Systems

17-January-2024

Due to reduced distribution system pressure, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the New Danville Community (TX1700803) public water system to notify all customers to boil their water prior to consumption (e.g., washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc). Children, seniors, and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should follow these directions).

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.

In lieu of boiling, individuals may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the public water system officials will notify customers that the water is safe for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

Once the boil water notice is no longer in effect, the public water system will issue a notice to customers that rescinds the boil water notice in a manner similar to this notice.

Please share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses). You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail.

If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact Randy Smyth at randy.smyth@newdanville.org (936) 236-6828

This notice is required due to portions of the water plant affected by the freeze, causing the system to be unable to deliver water at the desired/required pressure.

A separate notice will be sent to rescind the boil notice once the water system in fully online and water samples can be tested by our labs.
