Programs - Residential Program

New Danville will provide a variety of housing at affordable rental rates. Each neighborhood will include a mixture of 4-bedroom homes (3 residents plus live-in staff member), efficiency apartment units, and 1-bedroom cottages. Each month-to-month rental agreement will include:

• Utilities
• electricity, water, sewer, basic cable or satellite, and telephone/internet connections. Telephone and premium television/internet services will be provided for additional charges.
• Residential Assistance
• Live-in residential assistance will be provided for all 4-bedroom houses. For apartments and cottages, limited residential assistance will be provided during the morning and evening shifts.
• Life Skills Training:
• Instructors will teach basic life-skills such as money management including budgeting, using a microwave oven and laundry washer and dryers, cleaning bathrooms and kitchen, sweeping, mopping and vacuuming, balancing work and recreation, learn to drive golf carts, and personal grooming and hygiene.
• Transportation
• provided for healthcare needs (medical, dental, vision, and psychiatric), employment and planned social and recreational outings
• Social and Recreational Activities
• a community recreation center will be available for the exclusive use of residents, and will include billiard tables, board games and card tables, big-screen TV, refreshment bar, and swimming pool. Weekly activities will be planned which will include pool-side parties, hayrides, cookouts, dances, bingo, and birthday and holiday celebrations.
